Wifi will not work

I’m not sure if this is the app or the iRobot, but after an hour, I am still unable to set up the Roomba with my wifi network. It is not compatible with 5GHz networks (Really? In 2015?). Long list of incompatible routers (although mine is not on that list, so what’s up with that?) Tells me my password is incorrect when it is clearly correct. The app is completely useless without wifi setup. And I’ve set up dozens of other devices on my wifi network without these kind of issues. Epic fail guys.

Beats bending over

Works as advertised. Five minutes and up and running. Battery level would be nice.

Needs notifications!

Bin full? Wheres my notification? Robot gets stuck? Wheres my notification? Something needs cleaned? Wheres my notification? Etc. Thanks

Does not work with 5 ghz frequency

And the only way you figure this out is by trial and error.

Good first version

Simplicity is a virtue. No need to load the app down with seldom-used frills. Notifications would be nice, although knowing that the robot is stuck when Im not at home is not that helpful.

Nice! One Suggestion

Update: History is no longer working/updating recent jobs Remote access once worked but no longer works. Original: I would like the battery charge level. Other than that well done!

Works OK was hoping for better...

The app works as designed, but it would be nice if it had notifications. Ultimately Id like for it to have a few other features such as Dock, Spot Clean and guidance buttons, such as the 880 remote does.. to point the robot in specific directions. Overall it works, but more enhancements would be nice for as high-tech as the robot is.

Great Simple, and fast app!

You can tell a lot of work was put into this app. Even though it may not have a crazy amount of features, it retains the sleek and minimalist design of the roomba. With helpful status updates and as I said before, its a very fast and snappy app. Same with the roomba itself! The 980 has been great so far!

Please add push notifications

This app works great. Has nice features that all work seamlessly. The one thing it needs is when the roomba has a fault we should be able to be notified right away with push notifications. Or at least have the option to be notified. I would purchase another 900 roomba if this feature existed. Its frustrating to think its cleaned and back charging to find it stuck on a toddlers toy or bed skirt please update the app or software. For this capability.

Good app but needs some obvious improvements

The app is basic thats pretty much it unfortunately. It allows you to schedule cleanings and turn the iRobot on and off to clean and such, itll give you notifications of when maintenance and levels etc. thats all good. But the reason someone invests $900 in an iRobot 980 isnt for such simple applications. I really wish these folks include the following capabilities into the app to make it more worth the money because right now the app just serves as a gimmicky novelty at best and $900 is a lot to pay for that. I wish they did the following 1) once the Roomba maps your entire floor it should provide you a map of your floors on your app. So that if you were to spot clean a part or just a room, you could draw on or outline the part on the map and it would go clean just that portion. 2) it would be nice to not just have maintenance updates about the Bin and the sensors but it would also be good to see the battery charge levels and the bin dirt levels on the app itself. 3) it would be good to control the actual Roomba with the app. As in direct where to go using a finger or gesture controls on the app itself Plus there are a couple minor quirks that need attention. One of them being that if battery runs low and it goes to the home base to charge, lets say I want it to just end the job then and not resume anymore, the app has no way to do that. You need to do it physically ok the Roomba. I hope they will listen to customer feedback and make the changes because this is an incredible piece of gadgetry and it would be oh so worth the $900 if the app were a little more than a dumb on off switch

Needs to notify

This app is okay but it doesnt notify me when the bin is full or when roomba is stuck or when its fully charged. Many potential improvements here.

Need a see thing from the top mounted camera

Please add visual camera function and add manually control in your app. So I can send my Roomba back to charging station when I am at my office.

Ok Start

The app should: - be able to schedule more than one cleaning in a day. - send the Roomba home during a clean - the roomba 900 has a map of your home. Lets see it. - and once we see the map we should be able to send the roomba to a specific area to clean (I.e, send it to the kitchen, kids room, etc)

No notifications

It doesnt give you any notification if something happened. And it also doesnt let me end a job with this app even though it is supposed to.

Good start, lets get some updates out.

A clean and responsive little app for a five star robot. However, the history doesnt always update right, some runs are missing, some end in canceled when Im sure the robot went home and sang its "complete" tune. More importantly, I want to see the map being generated as the Roomba cleans. And why cant the Roomba store the map for future use and revision? Hardware limit perhaps, but if not, sounds like a no brainer. Either way, I want to see the map being formed, cause it looks cool on the teaser video. On a more pragmatic point; push notifications, please? Wink integration. (The Roomba needs some light to "see". Imagine, Nest says Im away, wink turns on Roomba level lighting, wink commands Roomba to clean...). As long as Im writing a wish list; stream from the camera and add remote controls? I know, I know, its a vacuum cleaner not a toy...

Filter plugs easy.

Roomba will show the trash bin is full when its not cause the filter is caked with hair, lint, ect when vacuuming carpet. You have to clean the filter after each use and sometimes before it finishes its job even when the bins not full cause the filter gets plugged. Filter is right above the trash bin and thats y Im guessing its always plugging its picking up what its sucking up in to the trash bin. Can it be moved or something else figured out?

First run x6

We started our initial run yesterday at 4:30 PM; it is now 6:20 AM the next day and I am still trying to finish. So far things that I have seen that needs updated: from the history menu, you need to be able to select resume job. When theres an error code such as Roomba is stuck, or the battery is too low for him to return to the homebase and you have to physically put him there, you need to be able to resume the last job. I had this happen two different times where I had to place him on the homebase and then he just wanted to start back over instead of resuming the last job. Also I would like to see a battery symbol or percentage of current battery life while its running. Also I want to reiterate everybody elses sentiments of having push notifications. I think that is all from my first run. I am still loving the cute little fella.

Its a start

Like most are saying here, there seems to be several things you would expect in an app like this that just dont exist right now. 1. Resume job if for some reason the Roomba stops in the middle 2. Push notifications as an option so we know when the bin is full or battery is out and did not return etc. 3. A map feature to where we can send the Roomba to specific rooms 4. Battery % on the Roomba "home screen" 5. Schedule multiple times in the day or even better, times for specific rooms (see 3 above) I know the team will be looking at some of these, until then, the app has a little ways to go before it is 5 stars

cant "end job"

I cannot end a job from the app. and I cant do anything in the app when roomba is charging in the middle of a cleaning cycle

Very nice, would like more detail

I love my 3rd roomba, and the app is the icing on the cake. However, I wish you could see the current percentage of the roombas remaining battery life. Also, the app occasionally is slow to respond to commands.
